In 2022, $25,000 from the Blackjack Ball was donated by the Blackjack Hall of Fame, Inc. to the University of Nevada Las Vegas. This was to help establish the UNLV Center for Gambling Policy and Health which will be an academic center of excellence dedicated to the study of problem and responsible gambling. In addition, this center will development, using a multidisciplinary approach, policy recommendations for regulators and the industry to help minimize the harms of problem gambling. In 2023, plans were to donate to the Nevada Council on Problem Gambling. The NCPG is a referral agency whose efforts are focused on addressing the impact of problem gambling on our citizens, businesses and communities in the State of Nevada. Incorporated in 1984, the Council serves as an advocate, an information resource, and a provider of programs and services to meet the needs of individuals and families who are affected by problem gambling.
